About Quit531

A roadmap left behind by someone who walked this road.

I smoked for 26 years

I started at 15 and quit at 41 β€” 26 years. I tried many methods and failed many times. The last time worked, not because of willpower, but because of a step-by-step path I figured out myself.

10 years smoke-free

It has been 10 years since my last cigarette. In those 10 years I have not been especially vigilant, and I do not remind myself "I am quitting" all the time. At some point, I realized β€” being a non-smoker has just become part of who I am.

Why this site

The hardest part of quitting was not physical withdrawal. It was not knowing how long the discomfort would last, whether what I was feeling was normal, or whether the road had an end. I want to write down what each part of this road looks like, for the people still walking it.

What Quit531 is

Quit531 is a free quit-smoking companion site. It offers a three-stage schedule, self-help tools, a body recovery timeline, a savings calculator, and more. Everything is based on my personal experience and public cessation research.

What Quit531 is not

It is not a medical service, a cessation clinic, a paid course, or an ad platform. It is just one person's roadmap, put online, free for anyone to take.

If you are quitting right now

I want to say β€” you do not have to do this alone. Many people have walked this road. You can follow their footprints. We cannot quit for you, but we can give you a map.
