FAQ
Things you might want to ask about Quit531
If your question is not answered here, feel free to email us.
Is this medical advice?
No. Quit531 provides behavioral quit-smoking guidance and self-help tools. It is not medical diagnosis, treatment, or prescription advice. Consult a doctor for serious health concerns.
Do I have to pay?
No. All tools and schedules are free. This is a personal public-good project, kept running by voluntary support.
Do I need to sign up?
Tools work without signing up. But schedule records in the Quit Calendar need an account, otherwise your data is lost when you switch devices or clear your browser cache.
Why is it called 531?
May 31 is World No Tobacco Day. 531 also maps to three stages: 5-Day Reset, 3-Week Rewire, 1-Quarter Redefine.
What is the 5-Day Reset?
The 5-Day Reset is the first stage. Those 5 days are when your body clears nicotine. Each day you turn one page, showing what your body is doing, how you might feel, and what to do today.
What does "detour" mean?
A detour is when you smoke a cigarette during your quit. We do not use the word "relapse" — stepping off the path is not a failure, and it does not reset you. Mark it, look at the trigger, and step back on the path.
What if I slipped?
Do not blame yourself, and do not give up because of one slip. Mark the detour, look at what situation and emotion triggered it, and use that as a plan for next time. Your road stays, and your total smoke-free days do not reset.
Will my data follow me across devices?
If you signed up, yes — log in and your data syncs. If not, data lives only in your current browser and is lost when you switch devices or clear the cache.
Can I go straight to the 3-Week Rewire?
If you already quit some time ago, the system will match the schedule to your real days. 0-30 days match to the corresponding stage. Over 31 days only gives advice, no more schedules.
