Smoke-Free Action

Beyond World No Tobacco Day

A personal public-good project, running all year. May 31 — World No Tobacco Day — is a key moment, but the action does not stop there.

2026 World No Tobacco Day

May 31 is World No Tobacco Day. WHO announces a theme each year. On that day, anti-tobacco groups and quitters worldwide do the same thing: remind themselves and the people around them that a smoke-free life is worth pursuing.

Help Someone Else Quit

If a family member or friend wants to quit, here is what you can do.

  • Do not smoke in front of them.
  • Do not keep asking "how's it going?".
  • If they slip, say "It's okay. Come back and keep going."
  • Share this roadmap with them.
